Announcing An Interview With Michelle Brown

An Interview With...Michelle Brown. I hope you enjoy the ride. 1) how do you invest? (viable ? for a prospective mate!)
i'm investing in rental property now. i've always wanted to play monopoly in real life and now i'm doing just that. my strategies include buying property that can be rented for at least 1% of the sales price. for instance, if i paid $75k for a house, i should expect to receive no less than $750 for rent for that property. i also contract with the government to provide decent and affordable housing for low income individuals through hud's section 8 program.
2) message to the beginning investor?
first of all, save your money! you should pay yourself 10% of everything you earn. for every $100 save $10. after investing in your future with more education, you'll be saving $100 for every $1000 you make. i hoping for $100k for every $1m!
pay your bills on time. this will help you maintain an attractive credit rating. with excellent or even good credit, better opportunities present themselves.
also, for those who has access to a 401k plan at work, take advantage of it. this could be the vehicle for saving your 10%. the savings money is taken from your gross pay before taxes which will lower your taxable income. the lower your taxable income, the lower tax bracket you are in. the lower your tax bracket, the less you pay in taxes.
3) what am i listening to right now...?
a little miles davis or john coltrane while at the office. aol radio BlackVoices while at home surfing the web. while in the car i listen to star 94.5 reppin' that o-town baby!
4) last great vacation? next great location? (gotta play as hard as you work!!!)
my daughter and i were jet setting for spring break '04. we jetted to the west coast for a couple days. we passed back through orlando jetting to the bahamas. we snorkled and rode mopeds around the islands. we chilled there for a fews days and then it was back to reality!
my next move will be in '06 possibly to rome or paris to see the coliseum or the effiel tower and the venus de milo. i might head to the carribean to party on an island or to mexico and climb some ruins. (can you keep up?)
