There's A New Mayor In Town

First I would like to express my congratulations to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Today he was sworn in as Mayor of Los Angeles. It was a colorful occasion including The African Methodist Church choir singing, one of my favorite singers, Natalie Cole sang "The Star Spangled Banner" and later joined the AME church for some great singing.

I was happy to see two people who used to sign my paychecks there in the forefront; Retired President of the Los Angeles Urban League, John W. Mack and Bishop Charles E. Blake. Just being in their presence I am sure made me a better person. Gosh, it seems like Mayor Villaraigosa would make a great next-boss....maybe I'll find myself in his administration but who signs those checks? Is it the City Auditor? Anyway he could sign my timesheet or something. I work for great men because my father was a great man (formerly Director for POIC) and it seems to be the coveted places God puts me in. And I even have a great pastor right now, Pastor Frank Wilson, formerly Motown Record Producer and Songwriter. Not to brag, but just the opposite. I do not think of myself highly but God has placed me in strategic places and these people have had a chance to get to know me to some degree.

I hope you get a chance to know my work through my first novel, Fragrance, as the book is still being re-edited and in a few weeks should find itself on line through Authorhouse. I would love to be invited for book signings too, so I can travel around the world, especially to South Africa.

I loved the Mayor's energy and message today. I hope he at least will read my book and invite me to do some Public Relations outreaches for the City of Los Angeles....that would be fun but more so, having an exclusive administration is what I hope he exemplifies. WE can all get along, eventually.
